Pre-kids Rachel assumed her pediatric Occupational Therapist expertise would help her “do it right” when it came to parenting.
Three-kids Rachel is a mother forged in the fire of expectations that went up in flames (or more accurately - that my kids burned to the ground).
Letting go of the children I expected to have, the parent I planned to be and the family experiences others are having (or appear to be) has allowed me to be more present and joyful in the reality of my life and to love what is.
Our family is writing a story so much more beautiful and human and challenging and liberating and connected than I ever could have expected.
Your Occupational Therapist + Coach
I come alongside high achieving parents like you anxious to “do it right.” Together we can shift your focus away from evaluating your parenting performance and obsessing about developmental checklists.
You can borrow my Occupational Therapist lens to appreciate and foster your child’s individual development and to lean into your unique strengths as a parent.
I’ll lend you my third-time parent perspective on days you fear you’re doing it all wrong.
And I’ll be your enthusiastic coach as you release your expectations and embrace the kids you have, the parent you are and craft your unique family story.
CanDo Kiddo + Family is a community of parents and professionals who value:
Growth
Development is never complete. Growing and learning are lifelong pursuits - for our children, ourselves and our families
Intuition
Information isn’t the sole antidote to anxiety. Peace relies on cultivating our innate wisdom, deep knowing and gut instincts
Intention
Circumstances may be outside our control but we alway have the power to choose how we think, feel and act in response
Diversity
differences in bodies, brains, values, personal and cultural histories require us to let go of a narrow definition of “normal”
